Building a room that counts
Minimum room checks, room types and decoration requirements for villager homes.
Start with a usable room
The inspected room checker expects at least 9 floor tiles, including at least 9 on its lowest floor level. It also checks for a width and depth of at least 3 grid units, a vertical span of at least 3 grid units, and a door.
A practical starting layout
A 3×3 footprint with a door is a useful starting point, but a footprint alone does not satisfy every room requirement. Build the full room and check whether the game recognises its type.
A room type is more than a name
A bedroom, kitchen or workshop is matched against its room definition. Home projects can ask for a specific type, a number of rooms, particular objects, decoration tags and a decoration score.
When a home objective stays incomplete
- Check that every requested room type is recognised.
- Check each room’s own requirements, not just the total home score.
- Look for requested items such as lights, paintings or fireplaces.
- Review the current quest stage: later stages can add rooms or raise targets.
Read the home checklist
Ash and Sabrina, Celeste, Gerald and Mikey, Ava and Kyung, and Walter each have separate home requirements in this build. Their guides collect the readable room and decoration information.
